Reference: LETTER OF REFERENCE – JESSICA C. MORENO BFA-ID PIDIM IMFA
At the request of Ms. Jessica Moreno, I am pleased to provide this Letter of Reference.
I came to know Jessica in 2004 when she was welcomed our Stantec Winnipeg office, having transferred from the Rochester NY USA office, with the responsibility of managing and coordinating the Interior Design Department’s work with, and support of, the growing Architectural Department. In short order, Jessica demonstrated not only her organizational and managerial skills but her collaborative and team-building abilities. She was able to take a Department that was in need of leadership and organization and bring a rigour and esprit décor that was recognized and deeply appreciated by the Executive Management Team.
It was quickly apparent to the Executive Team that Jessica’s marketing skills and potential were significant. Within the context of the Educational and Laboratory & Research portfolios that I manage, she was clearly comfortable working directly with our Clients. As a result, she became an important member of our marketing and interview team as she demonstrated the ability to quickly develop important relationships with, and the confidence of, prospective Clients.
Within the trenches of day-to-day practice, Ms. Moreno is a seasoned veteran who has not only jumped in to tackle individual projects but is also a well-respected coach and mentor to the staff she manages and supports. She is an excellent communicator who clearly spells out expectations, deliverables and outcomes to both her team members as well as the Executive group. Indeed, she is a consummate Team Player be it within a project scrum or around the Management Table – she is equally comfortable and capable. Jessica’s personal character traits are both engaging and welcoming. Her easy-going manner and very quick wit belie a sharp intellect that is always primed and ready.
For Jessica, relationships are important that’s what makes Jessica important. Her attention to managerial and project detail continued to the completion of her tenure within our Stantec Winnipeg office. With grace, care and order she has managed the hand-off of projects, deadlines and Client contacts within the Interior Design and Executive Team.
We are deeply appreciative of the person and professional that is Jessica Moreno. While we regret that she will no longer be a part of our office, we understand the call of the homeland and their respective family decision to return to the USA. It is our hope that the Canadian tenure of her journey forms an important part of her story and she is to ours. Any organization would be pleased and proud to have Jessica Moreno as a part of their Team. I welcome your inquiries should you wish to discuss Jessica’s contribution, roles and abilities further.
With respect and appreciation,

Reference: Jessica Moreno – Letter of Reference
I have known Jessica Moreno for over 5 years. I initially met Jessica when she was working for our company (Stantec Architecture Ltd.) in Rochester, New
York. At that time she was employed as an Intermediate Interior Designer within our Architecture Practice. Upon meeting Jessica, I was extremely impressed by her appetite to advance her professional competency, differentiate her skills and develop a better understanding of the business of Interior Design and Architecture.
In 2007, a Senior Interior Designer vacancy opened up in our Winnipeg office and in January 2008, Jessica relocated to assume the position.
During her tenure in Winnipeg, Jessica has been responsible for managing the Interior Design services related to Architecturally lead projects. This role
required her to liase with the Principals, Project Managers, and Project Architects to ensure that the scope of Interior Design Services was clearly
defined, budgets were established, and appropriate resources were put in place. In her capacity, Jessica was responsible to monitor project progress, manage resources / budgets and mentor Junior & Intermediate staff to ensure a consistent level of performance was delivered. More recently, Jessica has
assumed the management and delivery of independent Interior Design commissions ranging in value from $30K - $1M of professional fees.
In addition to the above, Jessica has also served as an integral member of the Interior Design Management Team. The ID management group was made of three individuals: the Commercial / Corporate Interior Design Manager; the Design Manager; and the role which Jessica held. As a team, this group coordinated the office project demands within the office, organized a robust continuing education program, evolved the quality of the design studio, and built a very positive department culture.
Over the past 3½ years, Jessica has been a significant contributor to our office. She has always demonstrated a very high degree of professionalism, maturity, and business discipline. Always positive, Jessica is a delight to work with. In her role as a mentor, she provided her staff thoughtful and constructive direction, with ready praise for a job well done.
Stantec Winnipeg has been fortunate to have Jessica as a key member of our office. We’re confident that she’ll make a meaningful contribution to any future place of work and strongly recommend her for employment.
Sincerely,
STANTEC ARCHITECTURE LTD.
